Somalia’s Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation, Ali Yussuf Ali, met the newly named Somali Police Commissioner, Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi, at his office. They discussed a range of pertinent issues, including advancing the government’s efforts in peacebuilding, reconciliation, and stabilisation across the country.
Meanwhile, Brigadier General Abdullahi inspected the Somali Police Force’s Central Tax Protection Unit. The Police Chief received a briefing from the officers on their operations regarding the protection of tax collections. He urged the officers to serve the people diligently and to strictly follow tax collection procedures. The Police Commissioner also issued a firm directive that no officer should unlawfully collect money from the public, warning that any officer found violating this order would face legal consequences.
