(27 Oct 2024) KISMAYO (Halqabsi News) – Jubaland security forces on Sunday repelled an Al-Shabaab attack on their base in the town of Jannay Abdalla, near Kismayo. According to Jubaland security sources, the attack on a security checkpoint in the Sariiraha area was thwarted, with the forces chasing the militants into the surrounding jungles.
The Somali National Army (SNA) and Jubaland forces stationed in the southern outskirts of Kismayo have recently intensified operations against Al-Shabaab, with some of these actions resulting in significant casualties among the militants.
