(30 Sep 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Somalia’s Minister of Defense, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, participated in a ceremony at the TurkSom Military Training Academy in Mogadishu, where newly trained officers were sworn in, marking the start of the 2024/2025 academic year.
Minister Nur reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building a strong and well-trained military capable of defending the nation, its people, and its religion. He emphasised that enhancing the capabilities of Somalia’s armed forces remains a top priority for the Ministry of Defense.
The TurkSom Academy, in partnership with Turkey, plays a key role in shaping Somalia’s military leaders, and the newly commissioned officers will contribute to strengthening the country’s defence efforts.
